I've put 16 hours into this game at this point. The first hour and some change consisted of multiplayer, so the following are my thoughts on the game currently. (Read single player for main review)Multiplayer: Not in a great state. Playable but more broken than single player. In my experience, the second person joining(not host) gets 1-2 free reserection statues everytime they die, giving the game practically no point at all. Slightly laggy and glitchy but this is expected anyways. Bugs are going to be found, it is EA. My partner and I stopped playing not much longer after that.**Single player: This is where the majority of my game play has come from, at least 14 of the hours. I really like this game so far. It is HARD and fantastic at the same time. The seasons are amazing and add a complication element to the game. The trees change with each season, the plants around you, and the matierals you can get during specific seasons (EX: no leaves or berries in green area from trees/bushes in winter). It's not an easy game and resources do not just come flying in, you may have to do some serious work for your items and it is realistic. So far I love this game in single player. I don't play hardly any survival crafting games alone but this one has really pleased me to play by myself. I have built a great complex now and still have a few tasks in mind. This game has a lot of potential and I am glad to be supporting it in it's EA state. There are bugs but it is playable and fun. Some of the bugs help out sometimes too :) Keep it up developers! I'll be glad to keep playing and bring my partner back when multiplayer gets better down the road!. Long time gamer and while have bought many games on spec, this is the first time I have been compelled to write a review. Bottom line is that Crossworlds is not ready for prime time by a long shot. The graphics and scenery are adequate to good but the action and gameplay with slowdowns and freezes makes the game almost unplayable. There are so many other well developed survival games out there such as "The Long Dark" and others that there's no reason to put a such an undeveloped Alpha game on the market for $14+. It's just not worth it even at five bucks. That said, it has promise but a long way to go and as it is in my library I'll keep peeking in on it now and again to see if the devs have given CrossworldsE it's just due and improve upon it's potential.. Game has potential. Great concept to include seasons and flooding. Resources ebb and wane as a result. Makes the player prioritize and plan accordingly. Otherwise, you die. Crafting is somewhat minimal at the time of this review, but you can see the developer is actively fixing bugs and updating crafting issues. It is certainly an alpha feel, but it is playable in its present form. If the developer stays on top of the game development it will be a neat crafting/survival game with it's own twists to compliment the genre. I give it a thumbs up for now.. Had high hopes for this game, but considering I couldn't even move around the settings menu without major issues doesn't look promising at the moment. When I eventually did get to start the game I was quite dissapointed with the graphics quality and game play itself. Got attacked by some animal and couldn't even kill it with my knife, stabbed it heaps of times and it just ran away. Has major issues with a high resolution (1900x1080). I should have just waited longer before buying this. oh well, maybe the devs will fix these issues before I play it again.. big thums down for now.. If I were you, I would keep an eye on this game. However, at this point it still needs quite a lot of work. Pros:*Good building mechanics*Very Interesting world with changing weather/seasons/terrain*Decent survival elementsCons:*Very unbalanced between enemies/enviornment/resources. *Impossible to see at night*Get an illness/injury and it is not clear what to do before it kills you.*Clipping issues Has a lot of potential to be a great gem. But, at this point, it's certainly not worth the price.. This game is really enjoyable. The graphics are good and I really like the scenery. I have played this game in two ways. In the first one I mainly concentrated on building a base and stocking up stuff for worse times and basically played as a survivor. I explored some parts but focused more on surviving than action. The other way I played I quickly build some small and medium safe bases in different locations and roamed the land looking for.....whatever. I went into caves, fought goblin settlements and explored as much as I could. I died quite often, but I learned to travel light at to get equiped with the most important things quickly. So this can be both a slow playing game and a more adventurous one, depending on what you like. It is different to many games in the same genre, and I am really looking forward to experience further development. It is really promising and I haven't felt as caught up in the development since the first six months of LiF back in 2014. It went♥♥♥♥♥♥up after that, of course, but that's another story. Crossworlds are a bit less ambitious and have more realistic goals.I can fully recommend it to anyone who like the survival genre and want to try something with a bit of a different vibe.Have a nice day. - Forfal. As of now the game I can't recommend the game. World seems rather lifeless, Animal AI is terrible, and in general it just doesn't feel right. My limited gametime is because I just don't enjoy the gameplay much. Will adjust this review if the game improves but for now give it a pass.. After 14 hours of game time. This is a unique survival game. This one has seasons and flooding. Like most survival games you have to worry about the basics. Food-Water-Shelter. Because of the seasons you have to plan ahead. Stock pile food and wood. Winter is harsh. Have to keep a fire going to stay warm. Make clothing to help resist the elements. Make a shelter. I recommend taking care of the basics before you explore the map too much, or explore places of interest.Yes there are caves, and abandoned settlements that contain good resources, however they are usually guarded by unfriendly NPC (Spiders, maneating worms, demon dog, dwarve archers) and other unknown mobs. There is a "lives system" in effect. There are these resurrection statues that represent your character lives. You start off with 2 or 3. You may build more, but if you run out of lives you can't respawn. (Unless you go to main menu and click continue)Currently only Singleplayer, with Online in the works. The game is in Alpha so it still needs a lot of work to make it more enjoyable. It is pretty hardcore IMO, and I have played many survival games.Due to this new style of Survival game featuring Seasons and Flooding/Tides. I give this game a 8/10.
